The Sunmiles Frequent Flyer Programme is the reward scheme of Cyprus Airways for its loyal passengers over the age of 12 which offers the opportunity of earning and redeeming points.
 

Sunmiles Programme Participation

• The right of participation is given to all individuals over the age of 12 (the use of Sunmiles online services is allowed only to individuals over the age of 18)
• Enrolment is free of charge
• Members should register their full name as written on their national ID cards or passports
• Cards are sent only to members who have completed one return Business class trip or two return Economy class trips
• Sunmiles card is personal and can be used only by the member whose name appears on card
• In case of double or more accounts, all transactions will be transferred in one account. Welcome points are credited only once in a member’s account

  How to Earn

• Point credit begins on enrolment provided that you declare your membership number upon reservation (Retrospective credit applies for flights made one month before enrolment)
• Points are credited per one way sector. 50% for U and L class, 100% for Y, K, B, N, S, H, M, T, W and G class and 150% for J, C, D and I class
• A Sunmiles member who is also a Flying Club member, may declare only one of the two numbers upon reservation
• Sunmiles members, accumulate points which can be exchanged for flight awarded tickets on CY and VS flights and aircraft according to redemption tables
• A necessary requirement for crediting points is the completion of flight by the member whose name is written on the Sunmiles card
• Points are not credited when travelling E class, for CY flight awarded tickets in normal redemption classes V/Z, higher redemption classes S/D, for VS flight awarded tickets in normal redemption classes T/G, for VS tickets issued in P and A class, on code share flights i.e. KL/AZ/GF/SU/RB/RO/EY/SV/SN/ME and chartered flights. Members are eligible for point credit according to distances tables
• Points remain active for two full years from the date of travel and must be redeemed for flight awarded tickets before the expiry date which is printed on your statement. You may also be informed about the expiration of your points through web
• Points expire four times a year, end of March, June, September and December
• The redemption of points should be completed at least 15 days prior to the expiry date
• No expiration of points applies for valid Sunjet Executive Club members
• For Sunmiles American Express card holders, Sunmiles points have four years validity
• Retain your ticket stubs and boarding passes until your trip appears on your statement
• Retrospective credit is permitted ONLY if the respective travelling documents (ticket or boarding cards) are submitted within a period of six months from the date of travel
• Retrospective credit on VS flights and aircraft and Cyprus Airways code share flights with VS is permitted only if the original boarding cards are submitted within a period of six months from the date of travel
• Transfer of points from one account to another is permitted for EUR10. Transfer of points will not count as any other activity or prevent your points from expiring. The minimum number of points which can be transferred is 1.000, multiples of 1.000 and a maximum of 10.000 points per transfer
• Sunjet Executive Gold/Corporate members are exempted from Transfer fee EUR10

How to Redeem

• Reservations for flight awarded travel can only be made through Cyprus Airways
• The number of seats available is limited therefore members are advised to reserve their seats as soon as possible
• Reservations for flight awarded travel on CY flights and aircraft are made on V and Z class. If additional points are redeemed (higher redemption), reservations are made on S and D class
• Members are entitled to exchange their points for one way tickets, return tickets and upgradings
• The redemption of points for upgrading to Business Class is allowed only on eligible Economy Class tickets (N/Class and above). Point credit is based on the Economy Class fare paid
• A flight awarded ticket can be issued in any person's name suggested by the card holder
• Transfer of points from one account to another is permitted for EUR10. Transfer of points will not count as any other activity or prevent your points from expiring. The minimum number of points which can be transferred is 1.000, multiples of 1.000 and a maximum of 10.000 points per transfer
• Sunjet Executive Gold/Corporate members are exempted from Transfer fee EUR10
• Taxes, fees, charges and surcharges must be paid upon issuance of flight awarded ticket. Fuel surcharge (YQ) does not apply on flight awarded tickets issued with the redemption of Sunmiles points for travel on CY flights and aircraft
• If a member wishes, he may also redeem 2.250 points (equivalent to EUR15) for the service fee.Points are redeemed upon the completion of reservation.
• Flight awarded tickets must be issued within the specified time limit given upon reservation
• Flight awarded tickets are not issued with open dates
• Any change to a flight awarded ticket is subject to a penalty charge of EUR34 or a deduction of 5000 points
• Sunjet Executive Gold/Corporate Gold members are exempted from penalty charge
• An Award ticket can be cancelled for EUR20. Cancellation of ticket and redeposit of points will not prevent your points from expiring or extend their validity
• Sunjet Gold/Corporate members are exempted from Cancellation fee EUR20
• Expired tickets can be extended for 3 more months (journey to be completed) for EUR34 Penalty Fee and EUR20 Extension Validity Fee
• Reservations for flight awarded travel on VS flights and aircraft are made on T and G class
• Fuel surcharge (YQ) applies on VS flights and aircraft
• Student redemption does not apply on VS flights
• Students may request flight awarded tickets with half redemption ONLY for the country where they study and ONLY when student fare tickets M/class or higher than M/Class tickets are purchased. For Greece, students may request flight awarded tickets with half redemption if higher than T/class tickets are purchased

Cards

There are three types of cards:

Classic, Premium and Elite.

Classic members who reach the level of 20.000 tier points within a year (January-December) from their trips in Aphrodite Economy Class and Apollo Business Class are automatically upgraded to Premium tier. Premium members who reach the level of 40.000 tier points within a year (January-December) from their trips in Aphrodite Economy Class and Apollo Business Class are automatically upgraded to Elite tier.

• Premium members are entitled to 25% additional bonus points
• Elite members are entitled to 50% additional bonus points
• Changing category is based only on points earned within the same calendar year (January to December)
• Points earned from Sunmiles American Express i.e “Other points” or “Ticket points” do not qualify for change in card category
• Points earned from any bonus activity (i.e. Business Class bonus points) or partner activity, do not qualify for change in card category
• Points earned from travelling on qualifying VS flights (except Cyprus Airways code share flights with VS) shall not be counted towards obtaining Sunmiles Premium or Elite status levels
• Premium and Elite Sunmiles members travelling on VS flights will not be eligible to tier bonus

General
 

• Special offers for the Sunmiles programme are subject to other rules and regulations
• Any case of fraud or embezzlement in connection with Sunmiles points or awards will be subject to judicial procedures. Cyprus Airways reserve the right to invalidate all tickets issued from an account and/or all earned points and to declare a member’s account invalid

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Cyprus Airways may proceed with alterations to the conditions of Sunmiles programme regarding point credits, the availability and use of awarded tickets and special promotions of any kind without prior notice. They reserve the right to terminate the Programme at six months notice with no obligation or responsibility towards any member regarding existing point credit at the time the Programme is terminated.
