Optional Services Fees

Cyprus Airways generally offers most of the "extras" such as meals and drinks as well as a certain amount of baggage allowance, free of charge and these are included in the price of your ticket. 

For an even better experience and in order to personalise your travel, Cyprus Airways  offers additional optional services . The following table outlines the fees for these optional services on Cyprus Airways.

  • Seamen passengers are allowed up to 40 kgs checked baggage free of charge
  • Military passengers are allowed up to 30 kgs checked baggage provided that a military card is presented.
  • Students holding a valid student ID card are allowed up to 30 Kgs checked baggage free of charge

 

HEAVY ITEMS POLICY:

To allow transportation, maximum allowable weight per baggage/equipment piece cannot exceed 32 kgs. Baggage over 32kgs must be shipped separately as cargo.

Excess Baggage Charges:


(i) Weight Charges

Each kilo of baggage weight additional to the free weight allowance specified in the free baggage allowance table shall be charged as follows

(a)     Zone A: 1.5% of the official IATA fare per kilo*

(b)     Zone B: 7 Euros per kilo.

 

Where

Zone A: All Cyprus Airways routes to Greece, Balkan countries and Middle East.
            * For the Domestic Routes in Greece (i.e. Heraklion-Rhodes) the charge is 2 Euros per kilo.

            (indicatively, a sector LCA-ATH will be charged around EUR 6 per kilo)

Zone B: The rest Cyprus Airways Destinations.  

  • For transit passengers ticketed on two or more flights operated by Cyprus Airways, EUR 7 per kilo will apply.

Golf equipment carried as additional equipment will not be charged provided that its total weight does not exceed the 15 kilos. 

For sporting equipment such as: 

  • bowling
  • water/snow ski that do not exceed the maximum dimensions 190cm x 75cm x 65cm
  • and diving (except oxygen bottles) equipment,

if it exceeds the normal free baggage allowance, then such additional equipment will be charged with a standard fee of 35 Euro. The maximum allowed weight for the above categories is 15 kgs.

If the weight of the items included in the sporting equipment categories exceeds the 15 Kgs then the excess baggage charges will apply.

One bicycle per passenger is accepted for carriage as checked baggage at an extra charge of EUR 35 per sector provided it is packed, its handlebars are fixed sideways, its pedals are removed or fixed inwards and its tires are flat.

Other certain oversize and overweight items, and sporting equipment that is not included in the categories above, such as wind-surfer boards, hand-gliders, water-skis that exceed the maximum dimensions, and canoes, are not accepted as baggage and must be carried as cargo. Sporting/Hunting guns can be accepted only as checked baggage or cargo. Guns that are packed in a separate weapons case and are accepted for carriage as checked baggage will be charged 35 Euro provided that the total weight of the case does not exceed the 15 kilos. Total weight of ammunition for sporting purposes cannot exceed 5 kgs (packaging included) per passenger. A musical instrument can be carried either in Cabin (free of charge) or as checked baggage or cargo or at an extra seat (provided that it will be reserved and paid, excluding taxes), depending on its dimensions and weight. If checked in, the weight of the instrument will be counted as part of the total weight baggage allowance and any excess weight will be charged as appropriate. Excess Baggage:

Excess baggage charges will apply per sector per bag.

First additional bag will be charged at GBP 40.00 [weighing up to 23 kilos], second extra bag and all subsequent bags will be charged at GBP 90.00.

Sports Baggage:

One piece of Golf equipment in addition to the free baggage allowance will not be charged as long as it does not weigh more than 15 kgs.

 


 
Pet Fees
Cyprus Airways in general accepts certain types of pets (i.e. cats, dogs and household birds) on its flights either in the cabin or in the holds as checked baggage provided that they are accompanied by valid health and vaccination certificates, entry permits, and other documents required by countries of entry or transit. Cats, dogs and household birds can be carried in the cabin, provided that the total gross weight of the pet (i.e. including the container’s weight) does not exceed the 8 kilos and the dimensions of the container do not exceed the 45 * 60 * 40cm. This is subject to exclusion dates and/or destination. The IATA per kilo charge will apply for PETS transported either in the Cabin or as checked baggage (i.e. Normal Excess baggage rate 1.5% of the official IATA fare). Moreover, cats, dogs, household birds as well as other certain types of pets, can be carried as cargo, also subject to exclusion dates and/or destination.
